November Favorites

It's been a while since I put together a favorite things list. As always, no one paid me to write about any of this stuff. Just things I've come across that I love and wanted to share. Feel free to share your faves in the Comments section below. Happy Autumn everyone! Simple baked apples. You could use pears too, if you wanted. These are really easy, and delicious. They've been my go-to dessert for the last month. I preheat the oven to 350-degrees; cut the apples in half and remove the seeds/core. Then I mix up: 1 teaspoon brown sugar, a couple of pinches of cinnamon and nutmeg, and some chopped pecans. I press the mixture evenly between the two apple halves. I place them cut side up in a baking dish, pouring some apple juice or water in the bottom of the dish. Then I bake them for 35-40 minutes. A fork should easily pierce the apple when it's done.

This sweet-smelling homemade Whipped Gingerbread Sugar Scrub. Treat yourself with the recipe from Sugar and Soul.

I love leggings, but most are way too thin for me to be comfortable wearing them out of the house unless I have a dress over the top of them. These Ponte Leggings from Lands End are much, much thicker than regular leggings. Warmer too. I also love their Starfish Leggings for under dresses and long tunic sweaters.

This homemade Orange-Vanilla Lip Balm. This is simple and has nothing scary in it. And it smells like a creamsicle!

Love this Chili Lime Seasoning from Trader Joe's. I use it on roasted veggies, and it's particularly tasty on roasted sweet potatoes.

Three Strength Exercises You Should Steal from Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Working out with a friend is just more fun. But if you don't have a friend to work out with, you can at least enjoy this video from imomsohard. Not sure it's full of great fitness advice, but it made me laugh.

Albert Einstein's Secret to Happiness is beautiful.

I've always said that Fall is the best season. Here's photographic proof.

I love a good at-home manicure. It's one of the things I do to feel good and relax, believe it or not. My current favorite is this month is Essie's Lady Like. Kind of grey, kind of pink, kind of purple. A must for me with all of my nail polish is that it's DBP, toluene and formaldehyde-free. This stuff is.
